Tilted Productions, 2012-13
Role
Production Manager, Technical Manager
Fragile, created by Maresa von Stockert for Tilted Productions, is a large-scale outdoor performance that combines contemporary dance, physical theatre and circus. Performed on a large set that depicts a rooftop, the scenography forms a central part of the choreography, incorporating elements such as a tightwire and hidden trampoline that allow performers to move across and through the structure. The set was created in collaboration with designer Fabrice Deperrois, with structural engineering by Jason Tucker, and production management by Jeremy Cox. The work is performed by a cast of contemporary dancers and circus artists whose acrobatic movement and interaction with the set explore themes of human vulnerability.
The piece was commissioned by PASS – Circus Channel and co-produced by La Brèche Pôle National des Arts du Cirque de Basse‑Normandie, SeaChange Arts, Atelier 231, and Viva Cité Festival, with additional support from Without Walls, Crying Out Loud, and Arts Council England.
Fragile was on an extensive national and international tour from May until September 2013 – 32 performances in 3 different countries with audiences reaching altogether approximately 18,000 people. The tour included performances at Asteroid Festival, Copenhagen, DK; Escapades d’été, Cherbourg, FR; Festival Z’Amis, Soirs d’été, Caen, FR; Festival Sortie de bains, Granville, FR; Greenwich + Docklands International Festival, London, UK; Mintfest, Kendal Norfolk and Norwich Festival; Salisbury International Arts Festival, UK; Out There Festival, Great Yarmouth, UK; Regneville sur mer, FR; Stockton International Riverside Festival, UK; Viva Cité Festival, FR.
