Overview
The Bermondsey Folk Festival in 2018 and 2019 presented a vibrant programme of traditional and contemporary folk music across venues and outdoor spaces around Bermondsey, including Bermondsey Square. The free community festival featured concerts, street performances, and informal acoustic sessions, bringing together established and emerging artists. Highlights included performances by leading folk musicians such as Martin Carthy, Lisa Knapp, Circulus, Andy Irvine, and Martin Simpson, alongside local performers and community events, reinforcing the festival’s role as a grassroots celebration of folk culture in South London.
